Headshot of Vlad Hromis, owner and engineer of VH Energy in New Hampshire

“A solar array is more than just hardware on a roof; it is a critical component of your property’s electrical infrastructure. My job is to ensure that infrastructure is safe, efficient, and engineered to perform for the next 25 years.”

– Vladimir Hromis, Owner & Engineer

30 Years of Technical Logic. 1,000+ Turnkey Systems.

VH Energy was founded in 2013 by husband-and-wife duo Vlad and Mary with a straightforward objective: to provide New England homeowners and businesses with energy systems designed by engineers, not salespeople.
Vlad’s approach to solar is rooted in a career dedicated to complex technical systems. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University in 1996, he spent 13 years as a software engineer—a background that built the foundation of logic and precision he brings to the solar industry today.

With 16 years of solar PV experience and over 1,000 turnkey systems installed, we don’t believe in “standard” templates. Every project is engineered from the ground up to meet the specific structural and electrical demands of your property. By utilizing our own in-house team rather than subcontractors, we ensure that the final installation meets the exact technical specifications of Vlad’s design.

Today, we remain a family-owned business headquartered in Pittsfield, helping our neighbors across New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and Massachusetts take control of their energy through technical excellence.

Rigorous Standards & Certified Expertise

A Commitment to Technical Evolution

Solar technology doesn’t stand still, and neither does our engineering. Vlad’s background in software engineering taught him that the best systems require continuous optimization. Even with 1,000+ installs completed, he remains a “student of the trade,” attending the annual RE+ (Solar Power International) trade show and maintaining direct dealer certifications with the industry’s most advanced manufacturers.

Expert Credentials & Training

We don’t just install these products; we are factory-certified to commission them. This ensures that your manufacturer warranties are fully protected and your system logic is programmed correctly.

  • NABCEP Certification: The gold standard for solar professional expertise.
  • Battery Storage Specialist: Advanced installation training for FranklinWH, HomeGrid, Enphase Ensemble, and LG Energy Solution (RESU Prime).
  • Inverter Logic: Technical Essentials training for SolarEdge Home Hub, Enphase Microinverters, and Sol-Ark.
  • Structural Expertise: Certified training in AllEarth Solar Trackers and SunModo Ground Array systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is VH Energy a local company or a national franchise?

We are a family-owned and operated business headquartered in Pittsfield, New Hampshire. Unlike national solar providers that often rely on centralized call centers and rotating sales teams, our founders, Vlad and Mary, are involved in every project. We prioritize regional expertise, specifically engineering systems that can handle the unique climate of New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and Massachusetts.

Does VH Energy use subcontractors for solar installations?

No. We believe that an engineered design is only as good as its execution. To maintain our high standards for technical precision and safety, we utilize our own in-house crew of professional installers. This ensures that every roof penetration, electrical connection, and system commissioning is performed by a team trained directly under Vlad’s supervision.

Why is an engineer-led approach important for my solar system?

Most solar systems are sold as “standard kits.” However, every property has unique structural and electrical variables. An engineer-led approach means your system is designed based on electrical load calculations and site-specific structural analysis (such as wind and snow load) rather than a salesperson’s template. This results in a system that is safer, more efficient, and more durable over its 25-year lifespan.

How long has VH Energy been in the solar industry?

Vlad has been in the solar industry for 16 years, and VH Energy has been operating as a turnkey provider for 13 years. With over 1,000 systems installed, we have a proven track record of navigating New England’s evolving utility regulations and incentive programs.
